Sizing For 2008 Silverado

I have a 2008 Silverado 1500 extended cab with the Z71 package with factory 18" rims. I was wondering if 275/65R18 will fit my truck without rubbing. Also how will this effect my speedometer? It has been to difficult to find a tire I like in the factory 265/65R18. Thank you

The Tire Rack website will have dimensional specs for each tire they sell.

 

For example, looking at the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2 (a great tire!!), the stock 265/65 tire when mounted on an 8" wheel will have a diameter of 31.5" and has 660 revolutions per mile. The measured tread width is 8.1"

 

The same tire in 275/65 on an 8" wheel has a mounted diameter of 32.1" and 649 revolutions per mile. The measured tread width is 8.5".

 

That difference in diameter and revs per mile will probably not be a big factor in the displayed speed. Maybe 1 MPH?? The tread width difference is 4/10".

 

 

FWIW, I had a set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's on my old 99 Silverado Z71 and they worked great in the rain and in snow. Great dry traction and I could push the truck much harder compared to the OEM Firestone Wilderness AT's. My 08 (same as yours) has OEM Bridgestone Dueler A/T RH-S tires and they seem to work just as well as the Revo's that were on the 99. Also, there is an offer for a $70 rewards card when you buy a set of 4 Bridgestone tires. Chances are that local Bridgestone dealers have the same offer and places like Discount Tire will price match. If you are a Costco member, the same deal is there too.

I run 275/65/R18 and ran them before leveling the truck. They dont rub.

I believe you can fit up to 275/70R18
