Ok so my bodys 100% rust free except for maybe the bumpers have a tiny amount.... but my frame is starting to look like crap mostly on the front end wheel wells/upper control arms.... what can i do to either clean it up through sandblasting or sanding, or just stop the rust with throwing on some oil? how much will it cost? and will it be worth it versus buying a new truck? this truck was bought new in late 2001 it is a 2500HD Ext 4x4 w/ 8.1 Allison Automatic and i think 4.10s it has 49K and hasnt been molested or anything

Thanks,

EVAPORUST, then spray paint with Eastwood chassis black. We just did my Dad's 2500 over the summer. Looks good!

I've soaked old chains and tools in evapo-rust, but never tried it on a frame. What do you do? Brush it on, let it sit, wire brush the area, then rinse? I think that might be my Spring 2011 project...!

We degreased with Simple Green, let dry, wire brushed any loose or heavy rust, and then sprayed on Evaporust. After letting it soak we rinsed off. Let it dry again and then used Chassis Black spray. I agree that POR-15 is probably THE BEST stuff, but we did not feel like crawling under the truck with a brush. This was much easier!
