Rc 2" Clearance

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi everyone! I just installed my RC kit and had a question. I noticed there is about 1/16 of clearance between the top of the bolt/nut and the axle shaft. Is this normal and will the axle shaft hit it when the suspension is compressed?

Forgive the dirt, its messy up here right now lol.

Its tight under full extension, but shouldn't be a problem. I've not heard of any of the 500 people on here with the RC kit complain about it.

Ok, thanks for the reassurance  The RC 2" kit is a sweet setup. Took me about 30 minutes to put it in. I lifted the rear 1" as well so my truck don't squat so bad when I load my quad, it also took about 30 minutes. Thanks to everyone on the site, without you all I wouldn't have done it.

Merry Christmas!

Here is another angle.

I do not have the kit on my truck yet, but I've seen alot of pictures of the installation.

Wouldn't the clearance be the tightest while the suspension is stretched out (extended) all the way? It seems to me that if it doesnt score the axle or rub on it when the suspension is hanging as low as it can go, it is never going to. When the suspension is compressed as far as it will go, the axle will be farther away from the nut because the outside of the axle will be up higher then the bottom strut mount. When the suspension is stretched out all the way, the outside of the axle is lower then the strut mount, thus bringing it closer to the mount. Correct??

That is just what I picture in my head.... I'm hoping to get this kit in the next couple weeks.
