Ford 6.7 Problems Being Kept Secret?

Something I read on another forum.

I had a guy come look at one of my box trucks I have for sale last week. He's doing what I used to do, running 3PL Auto Freight, all throughout Texas and Lousiana for a company out of Houston. He was also running auto parts back during the 6.0 fiasco(delivering bins and bins of injectors and 2-3 crated 6.0 engines a day) so we got to talking about this new Ford 6.7 Powerjoke. He told me that here within the last month or 2 that his routes have picked up tremendously because of this new 6.7. Said he's back to delivering 1-2 maybe 3 crated 6.7 engines a day. 2 weeks ago he had to send 2 trucks on 1 route because the bobtail showed up with 7 crated 6.7 engines for delivery that day. He also said this go round it hasn't been "injectors" that was making him deliver to every Ford dealership every day within his territory, but it's fuel lines, or fuel "rail lines", whatever that is. Said they were shrink wrapped on hard cardboard with "Fragile" in big orange letters placed all over it. Said he was making his drivers put these packages up in the cab with them just in case. Told me it's just as bad as the 6.0 injector days. Dozens of those rail lines on the manifests every day. I just searched all over the internet for these problems. Either Ford, or the truck owners themselves, are making it a point to not let this get out online. I found a couple of discussions about a blown turbo, and another about a truck having major fuel problems, but both discussions have been cut short with postings that are praising Fords quick response, and then no more activity in that discussion. I don't believe in conspiracy theories, but I do wonder. I fully believed what this guy was telling me. If there are new crated 6.7 Powerjokes being run daily to dealerships by the dozens, how long until this makes it online??? I look at this guy as Paul Revere. Paul Revere rode his horse at night warning all that the British are coming, and then war broke out. Here is this guy running night hours delivering lots of Fords new engines that's supposed redeem them in the Diesel Truck market who really has no one he can warn about the possible war that's about to come with these customers that are buying into Fords new hype.

None of that would surprise me. Ford screwed up the 6.0 and 6.4. What makes anyone think they will get the 6.7 right?

It is on the internet so it must be true! I also found this information on the same internet site:

PLEASE SEND THIS TO EVERYONE ON YOUR CONTACT LIST!!

A new virus has just been discovered that has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive ever. This virus was discovered yesterday afternoon by McAfee . This virus simply destroys Sector Zero from the hard disk, where vital info rmation for its functioning are stored.

This virus acts in the following manner: It sends itself automatically to all contacts on your list with the title:

'You've received a Post Card from a Family member'.

As soon as the supposed virtual card is opened the computer freezes so that the user has to reboot. When the ctrl+alt+del keys or the reset button are pressed, the virus destroys Sector Zero, thus permanently destroying the hard disk. Yesterday in just a few hours this virus caused panic in New York, according to news broadcast by CNN.

This alert was received by an employee of Microsoft itself.

So don't open any mails with subject: 'A Post Card from'. As soon as you get the mail, delete it!! Even if you know the sender!!!

Please pass this mail to all of your friends.

Forward this to everyone in your address book. I'm sure most people, like myself, would rather receive this notice 25 times than not at All

Ummmmmmmm, these type of viruses pop up all the time. It's nothing new to worry about.

i know alot of people and some dealers actually deleted all of the emissions on the 6L's and they ran perfect and weren't touched after that. i give ford credit. they are the only ones that built there own diesel and not have someone else build. since it is the first year out, can't blame ford for any problems. how else are they going to find/fix the problems. nobody comes out with some new and it works 100%

The 6.7 had better be flawless when you come out saying things like "when you want something done right...you do it yourself".

And the D-Max is far more GM than you are giving credit for.

Not that it matters anyway...the engine could be flawless (I am hearing rumblings of problems as well), and the 2011 GMs still murder the Sooper Dooty.

And that bolded text is why no one here will take you seriously. You and everyone else who does the cute little misspellings because you have some weird deep rooted hate for another brand look awful silly when you do that.

Again show me where I said I "hate" Ford?

Baseless statements and personal attacks don't get you anywhere either.

You can't argue with the points I'm making...so you have to pick on something so small as a different way to spell something...too funny.

I pointed it out because the spelling games are immature and show you're clawing for a useful argument. You have said in the past you like Fords, yet so far I've seen you bash the F-150, the SD trucks, the Falcon (a model we don't even have here :driving:), the SHO and it's cousins and the Escape. I'm sure I forgot a few in there. And I'm not sold on the GM HD trucks being better yet. The recent test in the Rockies was impressive as hell but loading the trucks to their max and taking them up and down some of the steepest highways in the country isn't exactly what I'd call an accurate representation for what most of the trucks sold will be doing. Not to mention even with their supposedly inferior powertrain, the Ford absolutely schools the GM trucks in sales. And telling you that you look silly when you're in fact doing something silly isn't a personal attack.

    • Did you ever get this worked out? Mike is doing the two start thing now too. This is after a new camera back in December.
    • I’m doing an experiment on a vehicle I don’t have much money in. I’m going by the premise that after they last 100K miles they were no mechanical problems with assembly. Or defects with the parts. With oil changes by the minder for the first 127K miles when I acquired it. I quickly went through low mileage oil changes then settled on 5k oil changes with close to 170K miles on the vehicle currently. I did have the option to turn off the cylinder deactivation. I didn’t on this vehicle because it’s in ECONOMY mode at least half the time. It should be a no brainer frequent oil changes are the key. The manufacturer gets away with the long oil changes with its severe service  maintenance. Just ask them what is normal.
    • Even set to "recirculated", the air pushes out and is hot. I have noticed that sometime it doesn't want to switch between recirculated/vented air. Say it is set to Circulated Air and I want to switch to Vented, when I click the Vented button, it just quickly lights up/clicks and immediatly switches back to Circulated. It's done this a few times now. So maybe it is an actuator getting stuck? But then, that doesn't explain the hot air when everything is off does it?
    • I wonder what the price is out at the coast, Big Sur or other out of the way locations as I bet they are charging quite a premium over the in land pumps.
    • Were you looking at the HD trucks on the GM website or the half tons as that makes all the difference. As far as I know there are only two options for the HD trucks and that is the standard 2 speed transfer case or the 2 speed transfer case that has the added 4 high auto feature and they put that transfer case by default into the LTZ and High Country although its optional in the LT and not sure if its available in the work trucks.    The half tons, that is where its been a total mess in my estimation for a few years now with most trucks below the top trim having the single speed transfer case as standard but with the option of having the two speed such as one would get by choosing the Z71 package, however then not being able to get the two speed transfer case with the towing package unless it was a higher trim truck AND had the 6.2 gas so one could combine the towing package gearing diffs with the two speed transfer case. Having said that if its a trail boss package then it gets the two speed transfer case but not necessarily able to get the tow package as it would depend on trim level and engine chosen. Believe me, people have bought the GM half tons assuming "of course it will have a two speed transfer case" only to find out after when they really pay attention to what they now own .... crap, there is NO low range !.    I don't believe Ford or Ram have gone that way yet with their half tons but like I say its been a few years now that GM has done this with the half tons.
