how's it going, my name is matt, and i am new here. i recently had my 2000 z71 totalled by a drunk driver (Dec 21) and am now a proud owner of a 2004 sierra 4x4 crew cab. love the new truck but have a few questions. first off it has a bose stereo, does anyone know much about these? like how to get the sub engaged and how to add an after market sub?

next this truck has the "clunk" in the steering so i am guessing that this is the upper intermediate steering arm? i am guessing this is something i could do in an afternoon?

lastly i would absolutely take any info on what some of the performance type stuff i could do to this truck. i have exhaust and an AEM cold air intake on here. my last truck had the helix power tower throttle body spacer on it and i am not sure i want it on this truck. i was told to buy a programmer and just drive it.

well thanks for any and all help.

hello and welcome to gm forums, Matt

1- does your bose have a stock sub?

2- i can't help with the clunk but i believe its a common problem.

3 - as far as performance parts go. its all based on your price range and what you use your truck for.

the best bang for the buck for performance parts is a custom tune. - black bear are great tunes, i never heard a bad thing about them

Waste no money on a TB spacer for this truck

UIS shaft takes about 30 minutes max to change. You might want to change the lower column bearing at the same time. There is a redesigned part.
