Fog Light Bulbs Burnt Out

Recommended Posts

One of the lamps on my fog lights have burned out and needs replaced. Before I go out and buy anything I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on any good, bright, and long lasting bulbs for replacement?

I don't want to modify the truck in any way, so no HID kits or anything. I'd also like to replace my day time driving lamps as well.

Thanks in advance!

I just purchase some LED fog lights. They look really nice, but they really don't put out that much light as the original bulbs. That's fine with me, I have HID's in the low beams and that's plenty of light output. Plus we only get two or three days thru out the year of fog around here. lol

Yeah I tend to use my fog lights as driving lights as well. I always have them running - day or night.

Well checked out Sylvania's website and they suggested for an 04 Sierra to use the 9145 or 9145ST. I bought the 9145ST's and have installed them, during the install I noticed the factory bulbs were Sylvania 9140's which are rated at 37W compared to the 9145ST's at 45W.

Not a huge difference so I figured I'd stick with the 9145ST's for now unless they get really hot. While it's still pretty light outside I couldn't see if there was a visible difference in how long the beam was I certainly could tell a huge difference from the 9140 and 9145ST in color - the 9145ST are much more white. In fact the 9140's and my low beam lamps look yellow compared to them and I never thought my lights looked yellowish in the past.

Thinking about upgrading my low beams to Silverstar's as well now!
