but with it not starting though i dont know. could still be possible. the crankshaft sensor will do exactly what your problems are doing. my dad has a grand prix his crankshaft sensor went out. it started not want to crank. then one day driving down in town the car just shut off. took it to a mechanic said it was crankshaft sensor. it broke off the pintle or something and went into the engine. they had to tear alot of the engine apart to find it. got it all back together then wham. about 2 weeks something let go inside. so long story short if your crankshaft sensor is going out, you better take care of it soon.

They already replaced it. As I was driving off, the damn thing stalled again and wouldn't start. So it has to be something else.

denali the thing that gets me is why they would throw parts on it. they should be able to hook the computer up to it and see why its stalling and dying. then test the sensors or whatever and find out whats bad. seems preety bad to me. i would be so pissed off if i just paid someone that much money for nothing. i asked my friend who has a garage and he said the things we have all talked about plus the fuel pump relay and the mass air flow sensor. he said both could do it if they were bad. this is what sucks man. you paid someone to fix and and they didnt. this is why i try my best to fix all my problems. but as u see look at how many things could contribute to this problem. a good multimeter and ohmeter and repair book is what you need since the paid people cant find the problem.also with problems like this it should throw some codes. if it did you should be able to get this squared away pretty quick. i hope some of all this helps. good luck

This is the same dealer that has told me it's normal for my battery to die within 3 minutes if I leave the electronics on when the engine is off. I'm not surprised the knuckleheads didn't manage to fix this problem.

I'm going to be very pissed if they charge me another $500. When my truck stalled, the foreman came and picked it up. He called later and said an expert (:smash:) is going to come tomorrow to take a look at it.

I appreciate your posts, thanks :sigh:.

So they tried to charge me 5 hours of labour for looking at stuff. Didn't replace anything. Over $500. I said the hell with that, and argued with them for over an hour. Finally they agreed to charge me for just one hour.

Long story short, the next day it started acting up again. I went to the dealer to get new interior handles (chrome peeling off) and it wouldn't start after I had parked it. Picked it up today with a new battery. Hopefully the battery was the problem but I doubt it.

Hey any update on what you found with your yukon stalling? i've had the very same thing going on, off/on for a few years. I replaced the Throttle Body approx. one year ago and it seemed to have resolved the full stall, it seemed to idle better for awhile but then somewaht questionable, but hadn't actuall fully stalled until the last few days. Once it doesn, it won't start for 30-45 minutes. If you can keep it running, it's very sluggish and acts like it's being restricted. I've sprayed the manifold and mass air sensor to clean them but stil stalling. Do i need to remove the Throttle Body and clean it from the inside? could it be bad again? or one of the other many sensors people report replace, crankshaft position sense? PCM might be bad? i do get the stablitrack errors around same time but not always and then they go away. No other engire light or anything. Thought maybe you figured it out and would appreciate any help.
