Does anyone know the exact size of these speakers? Looks like 5 1/4" with some odd-sized tweeter in the front

and 5x3's? In the rears?

Think again, they're 6.5 in. And to mount new ones in there, you'll have to drill holes or buy an adapter. The tweeter has something like a 1.5-2 in. hole behind it and is held on with one screw on each side of it, thus the odd shape. And the back are 4x6, and this doesn't belong in the how-to section either.

Okay so we've established 5x3's in the rears, 6 1/2's in the front but the tweeter seems to still be up in the air, Anyone know the exact size?

if your're planning on installing new speakers on it and that is why you want to know what size is it.... in the front you'll fit some 6 1/2.. dont worry about the tweeter... if you're getting component speakers the tweeters that came with them will fit just fine! if you're getting speakers with tweeter integrated (regular cheaper speakers) forget about the tweeter space there.... and in the rear! if you dont mind cutting a little bit.. you can easily fit 5 1/4 speakers or 6 1/2.. in my 99 silverado ext cab.. i have 2 pair of boston 6 1/2 components (1 in the front doors and 1 in the back doors)... just cutted a little in the rear and it sound great! that is if you dont mind a little cutting

On mine, I unplugged the factory tweets and cut some holes and installed some in the factory bose locations on the newer trucks(A-pillar). Sounds much better echoing off the windshield than they do in the door muffled by passengers legs.

I did some cutting in my 2003 Malibu, was hoping to avoid it this time the rears arent too too important to me size-wise.
