Transfer Case Wine

Does any hear a slight whining noise when there transfer case is in high range four wheel drive?

 

I have noticed this lately on my 2009 Chevy 2500HD . This truck only has 5,000 miles on it.

I do not notice any difference or noises.

 

I do recommend you keep up on the fluid change more often if you use 4WD alot. I have 56,000 and have changed mine four times already. Each time it has alot of metal shavings on the mag plug. It is only a quart and a half of Dex 6 so call it cheap insurance.

I noticed the same thing, that and an unusual amount of feedback in my seat and pedal when engaged in 4HI.......None of my other 3/4 ton trucks have ever felt like this....waiting for the next snow to see if it's still there then I'll turn her in to be looked at....btw, just about 20k miles on the clock

I think I have what you have on my 06. but it doesn't seem abnormal. I figured there was just more machinery turning so therefore a little more noise. it does not sound like anything is messing up.

Yeah, mine seems noisy...

 

I'll worry about it when it breaks.

I have 2010 and notice alot of vibration coming through the floor and seats. Alot more than my '06 ever had. Doesn't sound like anything is wrong but can get annoying when driving a long time in 4 hi.
