2 Way Advance Remote.

I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado extended cab with rear window defog with factory remote start. I am wanting to purchase the new 2 way advance remote but the dealerships in my area are not sure if it will work since I have the RPO code C49. They are saying the one that might work will be GM part # 19171129 since I do have the AP3 code. But everything I read on the 2 way remotes states they will not work on a regular cab with RPO code C49. I don't understand why they list them not to work on a regular cab with with the C49 code and state nothing about an extened cab with C49?

Anyone out there have any dealings with these new remotes yet and can help me with ordering the one I need? Again I have the AP3 and C49 RPO code.

Thx ahead of time for any help!

It'll work, just tell them to go ahead and put it on there, c49 is just the rear window defogger, and it probably won't work automatically with the 2 way system, but who cares. Another question....do you have ap8? I think the deffog in the rear window conflicts with the advanced antenna, but it can be worked around.

the "issue" I was told with the rear window defogger is that the antenna is supposed to mount there and the fogger interferes with it..

this could be the techs reasoning, or an official reasoning, this I do not know, but the Avalanche guys are technically excluded because of the rear defogger and removable window. all that have installed the 2 way (my self included) on the Avalanche, put the antenna up under the headliner not on the rear window, and it doesn't seem to effect the range any..

I put the antenna on the rear window at the very top and it works fine, I think the problem is they dont want to say it will work with the heat in the window.

I have the 2 way remote start on my truck, and also have the rear defroster. They mounted the antenna at the very bottom of the window, just above the top of the rear seat cushion. Everything works just fine. They took a long time (like 20 min) to determine what the correct part number would be. My only real issue is having to remember to set the heater controls for the next morning.
