Before you get too happy, I think you get the first 3 months free regardless if you want it or not.

Should have NEVER posted your location. Now the XM SAT is homing in on Rayne and every XM receiver there will get zapped. OH, NO!!!!

Every once in a while they turn on the XM for a 2 week trial hoping you'll buy into it.....we usually get an email from On*Star telling us it's activated

I had Sirius in my old Jeep and it came with a 1 year free subscription. I thought "alright, I'll give this a shot" and I fell in love with it. Then the day came when I turned on the Jeep a little more than a year later and got the scrolling message saying that I'd have to subscribe for service.

Then a month or two later I happen to turn it on while flipping through the sources and all the music was back! It lasted for 4 more years for free until the day I got the scrolling message again. That was when I finally started paying again. I had the Jeep for 6 years and only paid for 1 year of service and got 5 years for free. I hope you got the same deal!

Play 'hardball' with XM. Call and enquire about the service, or wait for them to call you if they have your phone number. When they run through the packages, tell them you are not interested and they will ask why. Tell them you love XM but it is too expensive. I've been given 6 to 14 months at $5 to $7 per month offers.....on THREE different vehicles. Plus I managed to get some $ off for two lifetime subsciptions. I am still on a 14 month $6 plan on my commuter car.

in this situation what I would do is call them, get to cancellation, and say it's on and I want to make sure I don't get charged because it's too expensive. They'll Fold. $77 a year seems to be the going rate after negotiation. Pretty damn cheap if you ask me.
