Locking Diff Rpo Code

Is there another locking diff code other than G80? I have a 2003 Z71 and I didn't see G80 rpo. I double checked and it is a Z71 with all the package's accessories. I am truly stumped. If I hit the gas in a corner on snow I get 1 wheel peel but if i goose it from a stop going straight it kicks sideways and throws snow and mud from both tires.

G80 is the RPO code for the locking diff installed in trucks and also for the limited slip installed in cars.

Starting in 2004 Z71s came with a G80 locking diff. before then the G80 was a stand alone option and a Z71 could come with out the locking diff.

I just punched in all my rpo codes to see what i have and there is another locking diff rpo code. Its YD3 - Driver-selectable locking rear.

With that being said how the hell do I select it? does that mean it has to be in AUTO 4wd to work?

Also I have the heavy duty towing package Z82 which I think they installed on LSD trucks.

YD3 AXLE , (BASE EQUIP) FOR SCHEDULING GVW PLATE

GM did not put a selectable locking differential in your truck. Z82 is the trailering package and is not dependent on the diff.

The only locking diff offered for your truck is the G80 and if you do not have a G80 code you do not have it. Unless you have a Quadra steer. They could come with a G86 limited slip.

Well I was out today in some deep snow and kept noticing this clunking noise. I had my buddy get out and my rear diff was locking both tires together. I decided to look when I got home today so I pulled the cover and to my surprise i have a locking diff. Not sure why I don't have the G80 code but o well.
