My mom (I'm 22 mind you) just sent me a picture text of her new baby...a 2011 2500hd 6.0 that is...needless to say I'm happy for her but very jealous. haha, seeing as all I can currently afford is a 95 beater.

Keep workin. I didn't get my Silvy until I was almost 35, and it still isn't my dream truck, although I love it.

hah that must be annoying. i could probably afford a payment right now, but its not worth getting rid of all 3 of my vehicles for one new one.

 

im gonna wait until im 100% percent sure i can afford a new truck when the time comes and it will be a GMT900 2500 or 3500 any style with a long bed.

i paid for the 2001 about 1 year and a half ago, the 2003 silverado i HAD to buy it about half a year ago becasue it was for sale for $5200 by an old lady a few miles away from me whos husband died.. she wanted nothing to do with the truck, it had sat for almost 2 years in her garage. Chevrolet Silverado LS 1500 Z71 ECSB 4x4 4.8 3.73 with 77,000 miles. i HAD to buy it. the suburban has been in my family since new in 2003, and my dad said hed give it to me for 6000 when he wanted a new one. bought that too about 2 years ago. im going to trade both of the 2003's in a few months to get another truck, just cant do it right now.

well im never getting rid of the 01.. im keeping forever.

 

 

im going to sell the the 03's in a few months, i gotta figure out how much i want for them and what i actually want my next truck to be, and i really enjoy no car payments.

I saw a 2011 white crew cab 4x4 GMC Denali HD, it was sweet and sticker was $60k.

 

 

i think the denali is a badass truck... but my area isnt really one for luxury trucks anyway, i wouldnt buy one.

 

i would much rather pay about 35-39k for an 11' LT duramax

thats if i was gonna buy a used truck... im most likely going to try and find a 06-07 classic CCLB dmax or 8.1 or 6.0 if its a good enough deal, to me a brand new truck is a waste of money.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why do you need 3 trucks?

 

Every truck has a different purpouse. Like motorcycles and skis etc, etc, etc

      You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.

      You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.

      2026 6.6 L5P oil cooler leaking oil at 4,000 miles

      New to diesel trucks. I happened to find my oil cooler leaking oil externally with only 4,000 miles on the truck. I didn’t realize this was an issue until I started researching it. Dealer is going to replace it under warranty but I’m wondering if there’s anything GM is working on to fix this issue. I’ve heard the oil filter used is the same as they use on their V6 motors and that’s what is causing the problems. Should I switch to a bigger filter or keep using the OEM recommended?
