Hankooks, Super Swampers M16s, Etc?

I've been up in the air as to which mud tire I wanna put on my 07nbs sierra. I've got the 2"RC leveling kit and stock rims. Been lookin real hard at the Hankook Dynapro MTs and they seem to have great reviews. Also, a buddy suggested the SS M16s. The SS website doesn't have a 285/70/17 size for the M16s, but they have 33X10.50R17LT. Will that size still fit and does anybody have any experience with the M16s or Hankooks? All recommendations for a good mud tire would be much appreciated.

33x10.5x17 will be skinny looking but yes it would fit. I know some people that have the Hankook's and like them as far as noise, mud, and wear are concerned. I really like my BFG KM2's, but next go around I'm going to go with Cooper STT's or Nitto Trail Grapplers in a 295/70/17.

If I'm not mistaken the M16's come in a 295/70/17... those would fit on a NBS without any problems.

Ya i wouldnt go as far as saying "no problem" but you might be able to run them without too much rubbing.. Its still going to rub some i'd have to imagine. Its only a cm skinnier than 305s and they arent even close to being acceptable.

as far as those two tires go, i would choose the hankook it will last a hell of a long time.

Ya i wouldnt go as far as saying "no problem" but you might be able to run them without too much rubbing.. Its still going to rub some i'd have to imagine. Its only a cm skinnier than 305s and they arent even close to being acceptable.

as far as those two tires go, i would choose the hankook it will last a hell of a long time.

GMT-800 (NBS) trucks have alot more clearance than GMT-900 trucks (NNBS). I don't tolerate rubbing at all and I've seen 305/65/17's run on '05 leveled trucks and not rubbed. And thats some off-roading too and he had not trimmed anything. I know most people will say "Oh it doesn't rub".

To the OP I really think you could fit 295/70/17's on a GMT-800 with little to no issues. If anything all you would have to do is zip tie the plastic back.

I know that Chevy still had the "Classic" body style in 07, but what about GMC? And just my .02 but that NNBS term is retarded and makes no sense.

I don't like NNBS either but its what the OP used. I think its dumb as well. And I thought it said Silvy and not Sierra, so my mistake there...

If you want to fit comfortably with the leveling kit go with a 285/70/17. If you want to get a little bigger tires, the 295/70/17 would probably require trimming.

my bad brah, not familar with the lingo. I thought NBS meant "new body style". Thanks for the clarification.

back to the original intention of the post, anybody have experience with the hankooks? M16s probly won't happen due the sizing issue. I've read that the hankooks suck on wet roads. I guess this is true with most MTs. If I run them, do I have to "watch it" on wet corners? I don't drive like a bat outta hell BTW.
