It's too bad they couldn't have relocated the dogs to Alaska with some of the Iditarod teams or something. It's just a bad situation all the way around. I feel kind of bad, though, for the guy who did it. It sounds like he just got backed into a corner that he didn't know how to get out of. It doesn't sound like he wanted to do what he did and now he's suffering immensely for it. I just wonder where the owners of the company were during this whole process.

That is country folk mentallity at its best. He is messed up because he screwed up and did not get a clean shot. That said, I do not agree with how it was done at all. There were other options, but they cost money. If there were going to euthanize the dogs, there would not really be a public outcry, but they did not euthanize them, they simply killed them.

Sled dogs are not pets by the way.

i would also like to know what he means. and that is a bad situation to be in no matter how you look at it. They was really nothing else to do but to kill them. could he have done it better, absolutely. He couldn't sell them and nobody would take them. So that was the only way out. At least he didn't release them to the public. BUT i could never be able to kill 100 dogs let alone one dog. The reason he couldn't get rid of them is because pet dogs do NOT make good pets as did they say.

The owners probably provided the guy with the gun.

The guy gets no sympathy from me. He deserves all the bad he's got coming to him as far as I'm concerned. If he was following orders, whoever gave those orders needs to be held criminally responsible to the fullest. Could you imagine the fear those poor dogs were put through? Watching the others die before them. They were fighting for their LIVES.

Euthanize them? Ok, if there's really NOBODY out there who has a use for them (which I'm not 100% sold on, they were able to rehabilitate a majority of Michael Vick's dogs, weren't they?). Ok fine, but be peaceful and proffessional about it.

And before anyone drops the whole "They're just dogs, what about the starving children of the world Yadda yadda yadda" BS in reply. Spare it. I come from a family of enthusiastic Dog and Cat lovers, so I may sound a little unreasonable and extreme about this. But it's the way I was raised. Nothing anybody does or says is gonna change how I feel nor my opinion about this. This kinda shit fires me up.

I will not pass full judgement on the guy until we all know for a FACT that he committed this act on his own, or he was given the order to do so by the owner or manager of the business. Then I will decide if he is a horrible person or someone that did what he had to do to keep his job and feed his family.

Hard to pass full judgement on someone when you do not know all the circumstances. Media only tells you what they want you to believe. Now if this worker took matters into his own hands and brutally massacred 100 dogs, he should pay dearly for his crimes. End of story.

They had a way out of it like it or not. There has been plenty of sleeding teams that have said they would have taken a team or 2, and even paid for them.

Whether the company gave the order or not, the man behind the gun still pulled the trigger. He could have said I don't want to, or if you want it done; you pull the trigger. I wish worse things than death on all of them.
