2011 Silverado Check Engine Light

Recommended Posts

I have a 2011 chevy silverado lt with about 3100 miles on it. I was driving down the highway and the check engine light came on. I had onstar do a diagnostic and it said I had a misfire. So I stopped at advance auto and had the code pulled I got a p0300 multiple cylinder misfire. What can cause this? I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow.

Thanks

Does your truck have AFM?

Yeah. Sorry I forgot to add its a 5.3 with afm

It's broken. You should just return it now! Just kidding, but that's so frustrating to have a problem so soon.

Yeah it is... If i knew about the 5.3 issues I'd have bought a 6.2 or a 2500

Sure it's something stupid, but did you do any mods?

nope. no mods at all. against my better judgement I got gas from a local sunoco station that I don't like this morning then this happened. I usually run sheetz gas cause the truck runs better on it

Now my thoughts have been completely opposite. Sheetz and other similar chains buy the cheapest gas.... where others like mobil or shell are more consistent.

I'm sure the dealership will fix you right up.

I hope so. But its just irritating that a truck with 3000 miles is having issues...

Could be worse. I bought my truck about 85 miles from home. Before I got home on the way from the dealership I had the lovely c/e light. Onstar pulled code of oxygen sensor slow to respond. Local dealer checked it out and all has been happy since. Just a nuisance, but I know how you feel brother. Warranty is a good thing

I hope they can get it in tomorrow and get it fixed shortly. I have to haul the boat to the marina for some add ons this week.

Good luck. I really got lucky with mine. Local dealer took it in around 11:30 and brought it back to me at work around 2:00. Great service and I didn't even buy it from them.

They can't get it in until tomorrow. GRR... I need to go haul a load of anti skid so I can get the boat out of the garage and to the marina. Unfortunately I don't like the service dept at the dealership I bought it from. The subaru dealer would take you in as soon as you get the car there no matter how busy they were if you had a check engine light on. I know people that I work with that had bad dealings with this chevy service dept.... So I'm not expecting much.

Then why buy from them? They must undercut sell price to skimp on service. Other dealers will eventually cop a resentment toward owners who purchased from that dealer, and then bring their trucks to a dealer who has to sell at a higher price to support a superior service department.

Or maybe, like most of us, you found out after the fact?
