Backed Into A Suburban

Last night, I backed into a suburban with my 08 sierra. I flat out was just not paying attention, let off the brake in reverse, and wham. Anyway, I did not see any damage to the burb, but I crunched the hell outta the thin ass right side bumper on my truck. I do have backup sensors, but I hit it before could react to the beep. Anyway, what am I looking at cost wise to get the right side piece replaced?

If all you need is the chrome end cap, that piece runs $260.35,you'll also need 7 rivets (1/4 x 1-3/4")

I'm not trying to be a forum troll or "bash" anyone.

But just remember your in control of a 4000+ lb vehicle. You should always pay attention backing up. You never know what or WHO could be behind you, ie a little girl on a bike.

Bummer...I was hoping it would be a bit cheaper than that. Guess ill just have to hold off for a while. Thanks for the info, its much appreciated.

Unfortunately, "thin and weak" parts are not necessarily synonymous with "cheap" these days. what I find amazing is that they will often sell you a heavy piece of unfinished metal pretty cheap, but some small plastic chromed piece costs a fortune.

ah this reminds me of the dave chappelle episode where they are smoking pot and pulling out of a drive through and run over a girl on her bike...then it says DON'T SMOKE POT AND RIDE YOUR BIKE
