2000 Ignition Problem

I have a 2000 GMC 2500 that sometimes wont start with the key. When you turn the key all the electrical comes on but it won't even try to come on like the battery is dead. I can use my remote start and it will fire right up or sometimes you can turn it on and off a few times and it will finally turn on. Then it might go 2 or 3 weeks before it acts up again. You guys have any ideas? Will I have to replace the entire ignition system? Thanks for any help or ideas.

I would say the ign switch is bad.
