09 Sierra Rear Seat Plastic Piece

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. Finally found a site that seems helpful for a new truck-owner. So thanks in advance!

Broke the side plastic panel of the rear seat. Kids tried to fold the seat down with something in the way, and it broke. Now when you have the seat up and try to fold it down, the seat wants to fold into this crack, instead of behind it as designed.

1) I don't know what this piece is. I can't find a part # because I don't know the proper description. Is it a benzel, panel, cover, etc?

2) Where is the best place to find a replacement?

It looks like I will need to pull the seat out to access the bolts to remove the old piece. Think I found some instructions for this, really just a few bolts underneath.

Can anyone help me out? I would really appreciate it.

Is the truck still under the 3/36 warranty?

If so see the dealer! Play dumb and use the "Gee this part broke

on my truck" routine and I am sure they will replace it under warranty!

Focijoe: That's exactly what I'm looking for. Though I still cant find that diagram you posted. Where did you find that? Thanks! Less than $15, that's great. I was expecting more.

Sonjaab: I am still within the warranty. Didn't think something like this would be covered. Heck... the first winter I had the truck (brand new), I got rust spots on the rear bumper by the exhaust. Took it in complaining, and all they would do was scrub off the rust and buffed the bumper. Looked ok, but I knew it would come back. My guess is poor plating quality on the bumper. Suprise, Surprise, this Winter I have the same spots. So I'll have to take it back in sometime and really have a hissy-fit.

Thanks guys. Really appreciate it.
