How Much Tranny Fluid Will Drain?

How much of the 5 qts of tranny fluid will actually gravity drain when i remove the pan?

 

 

Not flushing.. just a pan drop, filter change & refill. I know some fluid remains in torque converter & lines.

No one knows...??? Somebody on here is bound to have changed their own fluid...

Just dropping the pan and changing the filter I only had to put about 5qts of fluid back in. The system holds around 12qts total. So seven qts are still left inside the transmission and torque converter.

WOW.. so without a flush you're basically only doing half a tranny fluid change?!?!

 

 

Guess I might have to pay the dealer/shops $160+ asking price just so I know truck have all new fluid in there.
