order a vehicle

if i were to order a new truck if i cant find what i am looking for around my area how long would it take from the time i ordered till the time i got it. lets say a 2001 silverado z71 extended cab 4door. im guessing maybe a couple of months. just wondering thats all. theres alot of trucks at the dealers but they seem to be all the same colors blue or light pewter well atleast around here thats all you see. thanks in advance.

Your dealer can call around and have one brought to him an a matter of days. If you special order it will take six to eight weeks for the build sheet. That's been my experience. Good luck.

my 2000 Z71 was ordered on march 11th.  Order accepted march 14th.  Truck was delivered to the dealership april 10th.  

Alot quicker than i planned on but i didnt care

If you are going to order one, you might want to check on the availabillity of ordering an '02.  They should be accepting orders now or very soon, and I'd expect delivery in August.

2002 orders will start very soon (june)

Orders will start hitting dealerships in mid July which has been the case for the last 2 yrs (this is for 1500's)
