4l80e Trans

HOW MANY MILES YOU GETTING?

 

First truck with the 4L80e and havn't heard much feedback. Whats some experience with the trans and some opinions???? There are tons out there so lets hear what you got to say!!

My personal truck only has 58K on it but still works awesome. My current work truck had 207K on the original tranny when it failed and that was a very harsh 207K with the truck always weighing 9500+ pounds. I personally think it's a great tranny!

Ppl always seem to complain before they compliment online.... so if you are having a hard time finding very much info about this tranny than it must be pretty solid!

i think its much more robust than any other tranny that GM has built or builds besides the allison

everythig i've read about them has been generally good (knock on wood) they were installed in vehicles with GVWR's up to either 17,500 or 19,000 lbs, so that has to say somthing about them. Every 4l80-e ive ever heard including mine makes a cool sounding whirrrr noise in 1st gear.

211k miles on the work truck and still going strong

basically a turbo 400 with overdrive. And turbo 400s are one of the strongest transmissions out there...

204K on my DD, and no problems so far!

 

And we have a work van with 300k...and 1st gear sounds like an insane supercharger, but then it shifts and sounds normal again.
