Anyone try the LSX intake manifold at fuelairspark.com. supposedly 25 bolt on HP

1K for 25 hp? I think there are far better and more affordable ways to gain extra hp.

you can't use it. well, technically you could, but it wouldn't be a direct bolt and go application.

I know several people with high horsepower cars running this manifold, it's a great manifold, but you have to have the supporting mods to make it work and it's not ideal for trucks.

reason why it won't bolt and go on a truck is that the serpentine belt system is different from the car motors (that this manifold is designed for) and truck motors. The stock manifold on a truck has taller longer intake runners which aid in more ideal torque instead of horsepower improvement. Big heavy trucks don't need horsepower as much as they need torque. You would have to use all front engine accessories off of a Corvette or F-body to physically have the clearance to run this manifold on a truck.

Another issue is supporting mods. The stock manifold is not the factor holding back the motor from making power. There is plenty of room to pass the air needed. In order to have a need to push the amount of air this thing is capable or even just to fully use the stock manifold you will need a much more aggressive camshaft (and supporting mods) along with full exhaust (headers to tail pipe) and of course the entire intake system.

I could go on about this topic all day, but the bottom line is you couldn't even start to make use of this manifold.

You can get about the same gain from an LS6 intake and you can find them used on ebay for much less. I am assuming you are putting this on an 05 with a 5.3L. You can get much more from the LSX intake but you need a lot more mods (mostly being internal engine mods) to make that intake worth the money.
