2011 5.3 Colorado Tune

Asking the community,I'm fortunate to have a AVT tuning service in my area.All kinds of gains with this type of tuning i mean sick results! Is their any way of hiding it from dealer? Another PCM? Anyone know how much $$$$$ for another pcm?

nope... can't switch ecm's...

there is additional information stored in new vehicles and their ecms, such as mileage, being one of them...

so, if you switch ecm's, then swap it back, the mileage number will not match the odometer and BCM... and you're snagged...

the days of swapping ecm's is gone/done...

Thanks for that very important info,MONTE.Sounds like a gamble with your 5/100k warranty.Unless your in tight with a dealer.If you cause damage to an engine i'll bet gm will investigate,then the dealer has a problem? A NO TUNE TRUCK HERE?

What Lew is talking about is only valid for Global A vehicles.

History tracking is valid on Global A vehicles and 2007.5+ Duramax trucks ONLY.

Global A vehicles are:

2010 Coverage

Chevrolet Camaro

Buick Lacrosse

Cadillac SRX

Chevrolet Equinox

GMC Terrian

Additional for 2011

2011 COLORADO 5.3 looks like it's not on the A LIST.Will the ecm leave a record of it being tuned if i switch back to stock tune for warranty work?

Anybody heard of CVN? Calibration verification number.GOOGLE IT and read on! This little protective glitch that gm programmed into newer vehicles to protect their warranty coverage we'll you decide? I'm out no tune,no way,that's all i should say.

Most tuners do not change the CVNs.

Each time you add a tune or removing a tune your flashing the ecm.Which is recordable.CORRECT? Also mileage is recorded at the flash.Correct?When you swap ecm to hide a tune the bcn does not match ecm on mileage.CORRECT? So when vehicle goes to dealer for a failure or claim.They will ck. all these systems including CVN.So when one of these protective measures ain't jiving your WARRANTY IS VOID.CORRECT?

How does the AutoCal do this? Any issues with things being modified and detected by dealer?

Most tuners do not change the CVNs.

We haven't had any issues with the AutoCal. The vehicle is returned completely to stock.

Has anyone put a engine or drivetrain claim in and had no problem using AUTOCAL? Sorry but when you add and remove a tune your flashing the ecm.RED FLAG.The battles on.Can any tuner put in writing Guaranteed no trace at dealer? I know ya can't because that would be fraud toward warranty coverage.GM is not stupid don't ya think they figured this all out to cover their 5/100k coverage.
