ok... i dont know if anyone here will be able to help me or not, i have a 2010 silverado 5.3 i'd really like to get a little hotter cam for it but i cant seem to find any info on it. ive been told gm makes a performance cam for my truck which is probly the only way i would do it to keep the warranty. can anyone point me in the rite direction as to what would be good?

You put a different cam in it and they will probably void the entire drivetrain and emissions warranty. Just because GM offers a cam does not mean they will warranty it's use.

Exactly, if you want warranty, don't even think of opening the engine.

ive already been told by my gm dealer that if i got a gm cam their would be no problems with the warranty. true or not idk but thats what i was told

Like everyone else said, it most likely WILL void warranty even though it is a GM part... If you still want to throw one in, I would use a Comp rather than a GMPP cam... GMPP cams are way overpriced for what they are..Throw in a small Comp Xtreme, you will gain a ton more for less money

I would get that in writing. Are you sure they understood that you want a performance cam?? I dont know of any dealer that will honor a warranty due if you added a performance product.

There's no way a car dealership would let you keep warranty with a performance cam and the tune that goes with it, be it GM or not. I just can't see that.

yea i dont know, i know quite a few ppl at that dealer so who knows. maybe they just wouldnt "notice" if i ever needed warranty work done...... im not sure

yea i have been, im having a hard time finding cams in the gmpp catalog, well the parts manager told me my motor is an LC9 but i was also told it was an LS. but i should know for sure tomorrow hopefully

it's an ls style engine, what's your vin?
