Hi I am wondering if someone can help me out...

I put a new battery in my 2007 GMC Envoy Denali about 2 months, ago due to my car dying a few times. (I figure 3/4 years it was just due for a new one?) I have had NO issues since. Until last week I start my car fine and it will not shift out of park. I was also unable to remove the key from the ignition. After about an hour of crying, the key just came out. I started it right up and was able to put it in gear. On the way to the dealership the blinkers were acting strange. Working/ then not working. I was told I needed a new ignition switch where they charged me $230. I drive away with new lights lite up on the dash.. A securtiy (lock / key) light, I asked the dealer what is this for I have never seen it before he tells me to bring it back in to disable the light, but before I even got a chance to... NOT even a week later my car wont start what so ever. I have the vehicle towed back to the dealership where they proceed to tell me, the battery I put in 2 months ago must not be good.

I do have an after market remote starter in the vehicle which the dealer claims could be causing the issue. I have also mentioned to him that the cigerette lighter doesnt work, I have no clue if this actually has any bearing on any of this.. thought maybe it was worth mentioning.

Could be any of the things they mentioned. Could aslo be the new ign. switch isnt "timed" right, which is not hard to do on these.

new ignition switch is not timed right, the ignition is not shutting completely off and it is not shutting off the vehicle

Thanks for the info boys~

So is it safe to say .... when they put in the new ignition switch, it resulted in running my battery down? They put it in and then 6 days later my battery is completely dead.
