Picked up another computer

I was at the state fair on sunday for the "Super computer sale" and I picked up a cpu for 135 bucks.  It's a Dell w/ a Pentium II 350 mhz, 24x cd-rom, floppy drive, Rage 3D card, network card, 64 megs of ram and a 4 gig hard drive.  I got a monitor from one of my friends.  We installed win2000 on it last night and tomorrow we're going to hook it up to the network.  I know it's not the fastest, but it's probably the best I'm going to get for the price and it's just for gaming on the home network.  My buddy picked up the same kind I got, but a 233 w/ 32 megs of ram and a 2 gig hd for 85 bucks.  He was just going to get a new motherboard, but for 10 bucks more got a new computer.  He's going to take all the stuff out of his computer and throw it in there.  All in all, I'd say we made out pretty good at the show.

actually, I probably could now.  I can have mine going at home copying cd's and stuff and be using the other one.  But, it's mostly just to play network games.  If I had some more money I would have bought another one, but I need to save some money for the b/l and tires.  I didn't really get a chance to mess w/ the computer yet aside from loading win2000.  I have to figure out where I'm going to put it in my room.  I need another desk.

So with 2 computers now you're going to be posting twice as much?   :)  :)   :)

LOL!!!

I actually have mine networked and have been online here with them both at the same time.  I have mine set 90 degrees from eachother so all I have to do is turn my chair.  However what I really need to do is learn how to type on one with one hand while the other hand is typing on the other!!!

I thought about doing that too, but if I want to play games I don't want to share a chair w/ another guy.  I've got a big room so I can put the computer somewhere else in the room.

Anyone have any recommendations for games to install on them?  I've got Half-Life and Un-Real Tournament, any other good ones? (keep in mind the processor speed)

I'm also going to get a TV out for my computer so when we play MP games I can put my stuff on the 27" tv and hear it on my stereo.

alright, I'm posting in the forum on my new computer.  I didn't have to do anything to it to hook it up to the network, just plugged it into the hub.  That was easier than I thought it would be.  I've got to get some programs on here now.  This computer seems pretty nice, I just need a desk to put it on.  Having the keyboard on my lap and using the mouse on my leg won't get me very far.  I'll have to wait until my sister gets home from work and I'll see if I can swipe on of hers.

Yeah.......that's what I'd do if I was ambidextrous -   :)

Do that Shane and you could develop a severe case of A.C.T.S. (Advanced Carpel Tunnel Syndrome)  :)  :)
