Rosen Navigation Unit

Does anyone here have a Rosen in their truck or does anyone know if it is possible to play DVDs off an external hard drive on the Rosen unit using the mini usb connector? I know you can convert DVDs to avi file and play them off of a sd card, but was wondering if you can just backup your DVDs onto a external hard drive and play them on the Rosen unit without having to convert them to avi files?

I looked at the Rosen unit for a while last year and decided against it. That does not mean it is not a good unit however. There are a lot of people on the Buick Enclave forum that put Rosen units in. Some like them, some had to adjust and some took them out. When I was looking at them I did not pay attention to using external hard drives. One thing you should be aware of is that there are two versions for GMs- the 710 and the 720. The 710 is for most GMs and the 720 is for GMs with Bose Centerpoint systems. On Tahoes you can tell if it is Centerpoint but a middle speaker on the top of the dash.

If it was me I wouldnt, just buy a decent brand name in dash dvd and a metra dash kit.
