New Truck Order Tracking

How long should it take to receive order number from dealership? I ordered (or at least I told them to order) on Feb. 28. I called yesterday afternoon but they still don't have an order number.

I ordered mine on Feb. 13 and it was shipped on Feb. 28. The day it was shipped, the dealership had the VIN. Truck came off the rail car on Wednesday March 7 in Illinois to be sent to Pennyslvania by car carrier. Very anxious to get it.

I got my order number when the order was placed at my dealership. If the order was placed you should have the number.

They still haven't ordered it! Two weeks in a row now they've told me that "GM didn't pick up the order" - whatever that means. They also said that GM picks up the orders on Tuesdays only. I'm working days this week. I'm off next week. When I talked to the salesman earlier today I told him I'd give them until next Tuesday and if GM didn't pick up the order then I was going to the Ford dealership Wednesday. I really wouldn't go to a Ford dealership but I will go to another GM dealership. I've never had so much trouble trying to spend money.

Sounds like the dealer is blowing smoke. If they placed the order you should have an order number and it should be at least at "1000", GM can't pick up the order if the dealer never places it.

Something on your order is delaying it most likely. My 2012 GMC ordered has been held up since 01-19 due to constraint on Navigtion systems.

My order number is qdqxnb. The vehicle is to be shipped to Hawaii, but failed to get on the boat in California on time. When I called the dealer told me that they don't deal with vehicles until they arrive at port in Hawaii. And when I called GM customer service they told me that the dealer is the best POC for what's going on with my vehicle. What do I do? And how do I know which one is telling me the truth? And finally, who would I contact to see about scheduling my vehicle to be put on the next boat to get shipped?

Nothing you can do when its in transit, the shipper has total control. You can complain all you want but its not going to move any faster. You have to be patient or you will become one.

Dealer says it was ordered on March 5 .

But telling me it won't be in till the end of this month

Maybe someone with more experience with GM connects or another tracking site can tell me what stage this truck is at.

Got an update this morning. Truck is built and awaiting shipment. Hopefully it won't take too long to get from Mexico to northwest Louisiana.
