Check Out My New Toys

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to post up some pictures of my newly aquired toys to add to my truck. I know the recession is bad for most people, but for a craigslist addict, its a great time for great deals. I just bought a brush gurad and a set of wheels for $300.

The guard is by a company called Thunderstruck Truck Accessories. Its square tubing turned on its edge and it seems really tough. Check out the new sig picture to see the guard.

The wheels are Helo 791s that were pitted a little, so I sanded down the chrome and shot them with a little black accents. Im gonna wait to put them on untile I get some new center caps.

I hadnt decided if I will sell the factory wheels or not. I guess I will, if someone were to offer the right price.

I liked your old sig pic better, your truck was so much cleaner. :)

Oh btw, I changed the sig pic again since I added the 2" lift.

I was just thinking maybe some black trim restorer to the top bumper, flare, moldings and mirrors would really help the look, it seems the guard is just too black for the rest of the truck.

Im gonna hit them all with a coat of bedliner as well as the rocker pannels eventually.

Bad news. I assumed that since the wheels fit on an 03, they would fit on my 05. Appearantly thats not the case. I put them on and they were rubbing the brake callipers. So, Im gonna put them back up for sale.

I also took my truck in for an allignment and found out it had a bad hub bearing and idler arm.

So, hopefully I can sell the wheels so I can repair the truck.

Well, herest the deal. The wheels were a bust but luckily I was able to re-sell them for what I bought them for. Then I began to not like the brush guard, so I took it off and put it up for sale. So my truck is basically back to stock but 2" taller.

All those great deals I came across turned out to be a bust.

If anyone wants the brushguard, let me know. Im asking $300 but thata a little higher than I will take. Make me an offer.

I doubt it. That brush guard can't weigh more than one extra person in the cab. Might hinder fuel ecomonomy in the slightest little bit, but won't hurt bearings. I had one on my last truck. Love the looks of them.
