Hi from northern BC.

Thanks to everyone for contributing a lot of good information.

I do have a question: Does anyone know whether or not it's possible to get a warranty service history for a vehicle?

I bought a beautiful 2006 Sierra Nevada in mint shape in a city hundreds of miles from my home, and the lot said it came from a town a few hundred miles even further away and couldn't tell me where it was being serviced or much else about it.

I could provide the vin if someone can help.

Welcome to the site! I know the dealership keeps record of all work done by them, other then that unless it was written down and left in the truck there is no way to know.

if its warranty work specifically youre looking for you can go into your gmc dealer and have them run a GMVIS on it. the VIS will show all warranty work that has been performed as well as any recalls that the vehicle had and if they were resolved and when. if youre looking for normal maintenance work only the specific shop that the vehicle was worked on in would have those.
