I want 3.42 gears in my 2 door Tahoe. I currently have 3.73 gears front and back.

 

I would trade the 3.73's for 3.42's

 

I would also buy gear sets, complete 2 door Tahoe's with 3.42 gears or complete differentials at a reasonable price.

... personally... I would not do this kind of swap ... you might get a tiny bit of improvement in your fuel consumption when travelling at a constant highway speed ... slow down a little and you will get the same or better improvement even with your 3.73's

I have a seto f 3.42 gears out of a 2005 Sierra Crew Cab Z71 4X4. Replaced them with 3.73 gears, if you're interested.

Man...I wish I had the time to do the swap. I've got 3.42's in my 97 Sierra but use it every day, so I can't have more than the weekend of not being able to use it.
