Wet Carpet Under Floor Mat.....

I’m sure there are a million of these threads on this site. This one just happen to be one that came up.

To start the story I noticed drips off the head liner. I checked all of the hoses and they seemed to be working fine. Next I dropped the headliner some and noticed the trough was leaking. It seemed to be coming from the end caps where the hose connected. So, I fixed that. I then added a rear view camera. Much like the above picture I ran the wires through that rubber grommet. After noticing the floor under the carpet wet again (no leaking from the sunroof seen) I caulked the rubber grummet to ensure it wasn’t leaking. Still noticing the wet floor, and everyone saying it was from the sunroof, I replaced the seal around the sunroof and tried to readjust it. (still not dripping out of the headliner)

Now I’ve had the trim pieces out of the truck for about 7 months not trying to track it down. anytime I think of it and it rains or I’m on a wet road I stop and check the padding. I’m not totally sure, as there times the back padding seems more wet than the front, but I think it’s coming down the firewall. I drove in the rain for a few miles and stopped to check. The top left corner of the carpet was wet and the padding going up the firewall towards the fuse box seemed to be the most wet. That was the only time I’ve been able to confirm that, so it could have been a one off but I’ve heard people having something on the firewall leaking? Most of my hose test were around the grummet and sunroof. Any ideas where to start? I was thinking about checking that the sun roof hose was totally connected in the door jam. Thinking maybe some if going out but not all??? Winter is almost here and it’s becoming harder and harder to dry out the truck (and a huge PINTA). It’s also starting to bubble the paint on the driver side front floor board. Anything you can think of. Maybe pictures too!

I also found a technical bulletin on another site about a door seal but the pictures are too crappy to tell what's going.

I'm having troubles attaching it but it's TSB 07 08 64 004

I had the same issue with my 2006 and here is what I found. I have the Weathertech floor mats and pulled them out to clean them and the drivers side carpet was soaked. Tried everything looking for a leak and couldn't find anything. Then one morning I was going through the McDonalds drive threw a got some coffee, as I was putting it in the cup holder the cap came off and the whole cup of coffee dumped into the drivers floor mat. I pulled into a parking space to clean it up and when I opened the door and got out there was almost no coffee in the mat and none had spilled out on to the ground. I pulled up the plastic piece covering the door sill area and found a bunch of coffee in the chanel underneath where a wire loom runs. I also noticed the carpet was wet towards the front of the door below the emergency brake release. So here is what happened, if you look at the door weatherstripping its ends are butted together at about where the seat controls are, The floor mats channel the fluid to the weatherstrip and the small gap in the weatherstrip allows the fluid into the channel under the plastic trim and then it is wicked up into the carpet (if you are in an area that uses salt in the winter you may notice white salt residue where the kick panel meets the carpet under the emergency brake release). To correct this I removed and repositioned the door weatherstrip so that the butt ends of the weatherstrip are positioned up on the verticle area of the door by the latch, no more wet carpet.

Thanks for the reply.
My carpet will be dry, only under the carpet gets wet. If I don't catch it then I can see some discoloring in my gray carpet and a musty smell but that's it.
