Just An Update

I finally got some time today to do some things to the truck, and I must say I feel quite productive. I went and bought some Flowmaster Super 44's and intended on putting them on today, but after I hacked off the stock muffler, I fell in love with the sound. Returned the 44's, bought a 4" tip, and ran my exhaust in front of the rear tire. I'll take a pic of the new exhaust tomorrow and upload it. I then went to buy a cold air intake, but after some tinkering, I just slapped the filter on the intake itself!! Up next week is brakes and spark plugs.

Also, I've got the Pro Comp torsion keys and the stock blocks in the rear. The torsion bolts are all the way out, so I was thinking about cranking them a little. My front is barely higher than the rear, so can I buy those generic 2" blocks at Auto Zone and be ok? I'll have to look at the U-bolts more to see if it will work properly, but I can only hope. If not, I'm lucky enough to have a 4 Wheel Parts in town, so I can always go that route too. I'm hoping to make it sit just a liiiiittle taller. Thanks guys!

You shouldn't re-use the U-bolts if that's what you are asking and I'd be wary of the lift blocks from Autozone as they're surely garbage china metal. On a side note, that filter pic is dark so I may be missing it but did you not retain your MAF with that setup?

Well some U-bolts are square, some are a U shape. lol So I'll have to see which kind I need. And I can see how crappy of a picture it is now, I'll take a better one in the morning as well. But yes, I kept the MAF.

It goes:

(Front of the truck) Filter - MAF - Intake (Motor)

You just turned your stock (which is already a cold air intake that pulls air in from the fender, in a VERY HOT air intake pulling in air from the hot motor comparment)

Yea, it's a work in progress. I'll see which does better and change it accordingly.

Pulling air from the hot engine compartment will not be better than the stock system you took off. GM would do it the way you have it from the factory if it were the case.

the way you attached that corn air filter will loose some low end not very productive, + water and other shesh will get in to your motor + it might fall off

get one that works, btw: your truck is looking very good

Sure enough I forgot to take better pics this morning. I'll work on the video tomorrow because I'm in the field right now. (Army stuff ya know) I was bored yesterday so I was just trying the intake idea. I'll be putting the old one on shortly.

Just ordered 3" lift blocks, supposed to be in Wednesday. Then I'll crank the front and get an alignment that same day. Still waiting for someone to help me with this video. I can't take the vid and rev it at the same time. lol

Sit it on the ground or prop it up against something :shakehead:

Well, I got bored and ordered the Corvette servo. I'm hoping that it'll be a pleasant surprise when I try it out.
