Ditching The Rear Air Ride Crap..

Recommended Posts

I have a 2010 Avalanche with the Auto-Ride Level or whatever that crap is with the air shocks and compressor in the rear.

doesn anyone know if I can remove the system without the DIC throwing up errors, or the bus throwing codes?

I want to install a 6 inch lift and don't want to deal with the auto-level crap.

pretty sure there are kits that will work with the auto level as far as lifting goes. but not sure of anyone who gets rid of it and eliminates codes..

Do you have Z55 RPO code? If not, yes, it can all be removed with no dtcs or messages setting or coming on. If you have Z55 Autoride suspension, no such luck.

yup I have the Z55 code..

as for the kits, all they are is a raised plate that goes under the shock to raise it's mount point up as not to stretch it beyond design..

Problem would be dealing with trying to get the autoride suspension position sensors to read and react correctly. You'd have them way out of range.

Do you plan to install the lift yourself? If not, find a good shop that does them and I bet your not the first with autoride and they have a solution.
