Has anyone hooked up a 2 channel amp up to a factory deck? Im trying to keep with the factory deck for which it works fine for me. I also changed out all the speakers in the truck for kicker ks. Im hoping to get them a little louder and better sounding. They sound great now but just seeing if anyone has done it

My last truck i went all out but i got a baby girl now i don't want subs. In fact i sold them. But i really like the buttons on the steering wheel and if install an aftermarket deck im gonna need a module to use those again. In town everyone said it was least $100 for that. Then $100 for the dash kit and harness, Then another $100 just for a cheap deck. To me thats not worth it.

You can connect a rca low level converter to the rear speaker wires and have rca outs to a amp. Check ebay for converters, the one I have is similar to the Stinger or blue aluminum one. Cut rear speaker wires at driver's side rear, under plastic sill.

PAC - Audio sells a line out convertor that plugs into the factory radio/harness. I have a 4 channel amp powering the front speakers and bridged to a single 10" sub. The only downside to amping the front speakers is that it can mess with your chimes. It might be better to swap the front/rear channels and have the chimes come out of the rear speakers. Switched power/RAP can be accomplished by using the SEO connector in the MBEC in the driver's footwell.

I have the factory head unit, and line out convertors going to two amps. It was not the most economical way to do it, but, I wanted the stock appearance and stock features (without adding in a bunch of adaptors). Put the 10 inch sub under the rear seat (drivers side), and the two amps under the right rear seat. Get the good line out convertors, that is where any noise will be introduced.

Chimes work just fine, a bit loud, but just fine.

Do you have the Bose stereo in your rig? I am wondering how this would sound with a mid quality stock stereo.
