Front End Shake

I have a 2005 Chev 4 door 2 wheel drive. Since it was new, when you hit a bump or any defect in the road the truck shakes. It will actually move the steering wheel a little left or right. It is a rack and pinion steering. If it was an older vehicle it would have the effects of a bad idle arm. Some days pulls right then next it goes straight. It been aligned, new tires, front end checked, but no one can locate the problem. Every once in a while the truck gets the shakes. Any ideas, its as if everything on the roadway feeds right back through the steering wheel. Thanks for your help

GMT800's have sloppy steering.

but if its shaking, it could be the ball joints

Factory GM wheels, I assume?

Yes factory GM chrome/steel rims. Is there a cure for the shake. Like I said its done it from when it was new.

I thought GMT800's have steering boxes and not rack and pinion. Rack and pinion is better than steering box. Either way, I also own a 03 Tahoe and my wife has a 05 Yukon Denali, both gmt800's, and neither shake when hitting bumps.

GMT800 1500 series pickups were all rack and pinion steering.

If you have factory wheels, you can try a different set of front shocks.
