I need bedliner for my new '11 SLE and I was told Line-x is the ticket. I don't want it to fade down the road so I asked for premium. I jump on the rails a lot but don't like the look of black rails on a silver truck, so I asked for silver rails. The quote I was given was $1,025 for premium black bed liner with silver rails. Am I going crazy or is that ungodly high for a quote???

local (to me) shops pricing on their website:

LINE-X Pricing:

Compact trucks: $450

Full size trucks - short bed: $500

Full size trucks - long bed: $525

Over the rail applications: $25 per rail or a total of $75 for all rails.

*Pricing applies to standard black Line-X applications.

Color Match $700 + depending on application.

yeah sounds a bit high to me, I'd find another Line-X shop to compare.. I would not tell them your original quote until after they quote you though..

Definitely high. They're probably adding a lot of extra $$ for the color match and the "premium".

Old-Chevy-Dude's pricing is pretty much in line with what the shops around here in TX charge.

I had mine done, color matched the whole liner, over rail $750.00

I would try a little negotiating or check other line-X dealers, just to get a price you can use in the negotiation.

I got a quote from the local Line-X place here and it was...

$399 for standard Line-X under the rails

$429 for standard Line-X over the rails

+$50 for Line-X clear UV protection

Pricing could also be influenced by geographic location. For instance having LineX done in Alabama would significantly differ in price from LineX done where I live on the east coast near NYC. I had regular LineX with Extra over the rails done on my '07 and it cost me over $700. I've heard of pricing ranging from $400 up to well over $1,000. That being said I would get another quote for comparison. LineX dealers are difficult to find around where I am, I know of only 3 in the entire state of NJ.

color match linex here just 30 minutes out of DC is 700..., it could be because youre just doing the rails in silver so it requires alot of extra taping and being careful, plus when they do color match they have to cpmletely drain their machines/guns to run the color from what i understand. but still thats high, are you goin direct to the linex dealer or are you goin through a truck dealership?

I had the Line-x Premium done in late February. The dealer I used was running a February special, and he wound up doing a little better than he quoted due to an install problem that was his fault. Long story short I got out the door for less than $450, but like I said this was about $100 less than "normal." I can't imagine the color match being that much more. I didn't see your location, but in North Carolina the regular Line-x runs in the upper 4's to around 5 and the premium adds around $75. I think I'd shop around some more; in fact I know I would as my wife would KILL me if I spent $1K on a liner.

I had Line-X on my 03 and it hadn't shown any signs of fade by 2008 when it was traded. Current truck has normal Line-x too. I definitely paid a premium by having the selling dealer do it -$650 over the rail but with my work schedule the added cost was worth the convenience. I travel most weeks and just don't have the time to deal with dropping it off and picking it up. Honestly I like the contrast of the black liner compared to the paint so I never bothered to look into color options.

What he said about draining the guns/machines is correct. when i asked about getting mine sprayed, the guys seemed real hesitant on wanting to do a color other than black, so they is would have a few extra hours into draining the lines and guns and that there was still a risk in getting black specs in my white liner. So they prolly high balled you an offer in hopes you will either change your mind and have it all sprayed black, or pay the extra money.

I paid $679.99 for Line-X Premium, Over the Rails in black on my new standard bed black Silverado. Your price seems a bit high...

I would not bother with the premium. Just go regular. Yeah it may fade a little but only YOU will notice that, and when you think about it, it's not the end of the world. After all, It's a truck, not a show car.

I have seen faded bedliners and they look hideous. After all, I just spent $30k+ on this truck and the last thing I want to do is worry about the bedliner fading down the road. I use my truck as a truck. Therefore, I need a strong, long-lasting bedliner.

I live in Houston TX. According to Line-x website, there are only two dealers in the city. I have gotten quotes for rhino lining and it is significantly cheaper. Still waiting on a quote from this other line-x dealer...

Rhino will definitely fade unless they've changed their materials. My brother got Rhino in his Ranger back in 2002 and it's been fading for years now. It's gray at this point. If you're worried about fade get a tonneau to keep the sun off it when the bed isn't used.
