Disable Cylinder Reduction

Hello

 

I have 2010 Sierra crew cab. Recently added MBRP performance exhaust and KN cold air intake and notice when the engine reduces down to 4 cylinder mode, that the exhaust drone is terrible. I would prefer to stay consistent on 8 cylinders. Does anyone know if its at all possible to program out the 4 cylinder reduction?

yes i have disabled my Discplacement on Demand with a tuner. I have the Superchips Flashpaq and there is an option to disable it and always have it in V8 mode. i am not sure if the other tuners out there allow this option or not.

Diablosport has several handheld tuner products that allow you to disable this feature. Just make sure to reset to stock tune when taking the truck to the dealer. You could loose your performance tune if they flash the computer for an update.

just for your benefit all mufflers are quieter with more cylinders going thru them and do less to silence with fewer cylinders. this is true for all mufflers. if you put dual exhaust with two mufflers exactly the same size as a single system it will be much louder.
