Multi Function Swich

I need to replace the multi-function switch on my 02 GMC 3500. how difficult is this? Do I have to disable my air bag> Any help would be appreciated.

I need to replace mine also on a 2000 Sierra. You need to disable air bag, remove steering wheel to gain access into the steering column.

 

It sure looks like you could gain enough access by just removing the steering column with the wheel still attached though. Hope this helps
