got a notice in the mail today about a recall on my 07 nnbs. did a search on here, i couldn't find anything. it says "9184 material over sensing & diagnostic module retaining moisture"

should i take it in and let them do their thing, or should i just pitch it? the only problems i have are brake light sensor switch and tail light moisture....

I had the same recall on my 07. Its for the carpet padding over the ECM under the drivers seat holding water, I'd have it done so it doesn't scerw up the computer down the road and they say you didn't bring it in so its on you. They just trim the stuff away, takes about 30 min and you can't even tell.

^^ What he said. With the rains we've been having this year, it would be a real good idea to have it done.

How much it rains has nothing to do with it, its being removed so if the carpet gets wet from getting in the truck with snow covered or very wet shoes and water gets soaked in the carpet it could short the connections out but you would really have to have alot of water in the cab.

I doubt Chevy did the recall, due to folks letting their cabs get flooded. The problem was the carpet and padding were holding moisture on the ECM, 'ie' wet and snowy weather, were contributing to the condition, along with high humidity.
