Fold Down Middle Arm Rest 2009 Sierra

Well I knew it was going to break sooner or later because there was not much pressure on it. The latch to holds down the lid on the folddown middle seat arm rest broke. Cheap plastic.

 

Anyone know what the part number is for replacing this? Do you have to replace the whole big plastic area on the bottom part or what? oh this is for a 2009 GMC Sierra Extended cab.

 

Any help would be appreciated so I can get fix it up so stuff dont go flying everywhere when i accidentally fold up that seat and forgot about the lid not latching anymore. And I have 37000 on it so it wouldnt fall under warranty.

Mine broke too. I was told you have to replace the entire lid, you can't just buy the latch. Its was over a hundred bucks for a new Tan upper armrest door. The latch works by you bending plastic upwards (only two small areas that bend) so it will break again and again over time.

 

I refuse to pay 100 dollars for something to just break again. I ended up putting two screws in the bottom of the latch and used o-rings for some flex. It works for me, but its a little tight sometimes.

I'm a GM parts guy and you're correct. The latch is NOT serviceable by itself.
