jro909 Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 My steel rims are starting to rust rather badly on the seams, mostly just speckles but i'd rather cut the head off the problem before it speeds up, is their any products or methods to remove the rust that dosen't involve stripping them off the truck and sticking them into acid? i tryed local auto stores and they just kept taking me to the acid baths in a bottle
KMGZ400 Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 sand them down by hand until there is no rust, wipe them clean, find matching paint to your steel rims, tape off what you dont want painted, and then spray them with a layer or 2 of the matching paint and then some layers of clear coat. thats the easist solution
blacksierra01 Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 prime with some self etching primer before painting
