Problem With My Burb's Rear Diff

According to the guy I bought it from it's supposed to have a Detroit locker in it,well it doesn't.So I recently replaced the gear oil in it(with 80W-90 Lucas) and took a couple of pics. From checking the 'net it looks like the original G80.There have been times where one rear wheel is firmly planted on the ground and the other will spin and no lock up.The rear diff works fine otherwise...no noise,no chatter,no grinding. Is it possible something is broken inside the diff or out of adjustment? :dunno:

Did some searching and found a pic of the internals of the 10.5'' 14 bolt FF diff.....looks a little different than that one Don...

I see there are clutches, maybe a friction modifier might be necessary? :dunno:

No additive is needed. see this thread.

After reading that thread I see where the clutches for the 10.5 G80 are steel and can be replaced & I wonder if one of the springs inside the housing might be broken? I'd really like to have a Eaton Tru-Trac but don't have the $ right now.

Check out this vid...pretty cool, and notice the springs
