I'm looking to build an interface from my laptop to my truck.

Does anyone know the pinnouts, or have any info they'd like to share?

you can buy the connectors but they are costly..

we have one that came with out caterpillar engine laptop interface that will read gm engines.  it was a couple thousand just for the connectors, then a couple more for the software.  If thats what you are looking for

if you are just wanting to having your laptop in your truck to play mp3's or watch dvd's and such, you can just get a dc/ac converter and run your power cord to it, and then run a 1/8 stereo(headphone port) to male rca, and connect it to the input on your headunit.

Thanks Larry,

I was looking to have my own scanner/programmer.

there must be a (hack) out there.

actaully, i know you can get the cables for $50 or so, or if you inclined, you can search the internet and find the pinouts and wire up your own cable (just buy the ends).

The software is the hard part though... i know of autotap, and a few others..   :D
