I am wanting to replace the engine in a 1987 C10 with a newer model LS1. I have a few questions for the tech guys out there. If I do this the new engine will need a computer for it. Will I have to purchase a computer for it or what. Also if it is fuel injected instead of carberated, I am going to put a new tank in the bed, will I need a the same analog fuel pump or will the injector of the new engine work for that? The trans that is in it. Could I adapt it to the new engine or should I go ahead and get a new tranny. And I was thinking about setting up a Banks IQ instead of the old style gauges. Thanks for any help.

You can get painless wire harness for that swap.you will need a in tank electric fuel pump,as for the trans the trans will not last with that high hp motor i believe that truck had a tbi 350 low rpm toqrue motor.
