Truxedo Lo Pro Qt With Tool Box

Did a search (both google and on forum) and couldnt find much. I know you can custom order a truxedo lo pro qt to meet the specs of your truck bed with tool box. However, Im questioning the durability of a proper seal where the tonneau cover would meet at the tool box as I am worried about water getting into the bed of the truck thus making the point of the tonneau cover a moot one. So, has anyone dealt with these before and how effective the seal is where the tonneau meets the tool box?

That is an option but I would like to be able to get in and out of my tool box with ease. I also like the look of the tool box resting on the bed rails. Tool boxes are popular. Tonneaus are popular. Where is the middle ground here?

 

 

There has to be someone out there who is running with a tool box and roll up style tonneau... Truxedo has a form to fill out for a "custom" build so it has to be a fairly popular request...

call there 800 # and ask them how they seal against the tool box on a special order tonneau cover

I bolted an 1-1/4" aluminum angle with weather stripping to the toolbox then the tonneau cover uses that as the front lip to rest on. Doesn't leak any more than it would normally. I was going to get a special one made but they wanted too much money. Found an almost new one on craigslist and cut it down to fit. Works perfectly for way less money.

Ive been running a toolbox/roll up tonneau combo for 11 years. I have the Access brand and nothing ever gets wet. You will have to put some silicon or ? in a few spots but Ive got no complaints

it comes with a giant seal to squish up against the box, like said you'll need to silicone a few spots, but no bed cover is ever goin to be 100 percent water proof, if thats what you want an suv is for you. a custom made truxedo should only be at most 100 bucks more than the normal price of wherever you are getting it from. also if you wanted a chest box, the truxedo duece is an awesome cover, (soft cover that opens from the front) i have one on mine and love it, only bad side is its a lifted truck so its a little harder to get into my box. also with the toolbox its best if your box opens from the side, like the regular size weatherguard boxes, if yours opens from the front it may not work at all especially if its a low profile tool box
