Maybe They Solved Afm Oil Problem

Just came back from a 1200 mile trip, 7500 miles on truck, with just over 3000 miles since last oil change and never lost any oil on my 2011 gmc slt cc 1500, 5.3. Did Gm finally solve the problem of the oil consumption issue? or I am I lucky so far? I know its still early on the age of this truck, but so far so good. My 08 Silverado had the ticking lifters, lost a little oil between oil changes, AFM problems. Gas mileage was great @70 mph 22mpg and @ 75 mph, 20 mpg, with 20'' tires, way better than my 08.

My 08 with 36000 on it doesnt loose a drop of oil in between changes which range from 6-8k miles.

No consumption on my 08. 36k miles... Towed ~7k lbs over 5k miles this summer "out west", through some grueling heat. Maybe... maybe... "used" 1/8 qt.
