2008 2500hd Ltz Navigation Unit Problems

ok guys heres one for ya, i have a 08 2500hd ltz with bose stereo and stock 6 disc changer, i bought a nav unit off a buddy of mine brand new. i ran the part number and it didnt show up for a chev truck, but tried it anyway and everything works except my door dingers are very very loud and my signal indicators are very very loud. took it to my chev dealer to see if they could program the nav and they said its out of a gmc torrent and they said theres nothing they can do. please someone chime in on this and help me out!

You should be able to give your dealer the part number and have them re-flash the deck - we've never seen a factory navi that couldn't be flashed to work in another compatible GM vehicle - the re-flash just tells the deck where it lives now and what accessories are hooked to it, then it should work as expected (with the correct bootup splash screen for Chevrolet as well, which is contained in the memory of the deck).
