Does Anyone Recognize This Security System/button Module?

so i got an 06 silverado a few weeks ago and it has some sort of security system....but the awesome dealership had no idea what it was all about.

so im wondering is this some kind of factory option or does anyone recognize this as aftermarket because i believe it would be quite nifty to be able to figure out how the damn thing works.

the second lower green tab isnt a button, it pulls straight out, and when i do that the alarm goes off....as far as the top button if i hold it down for a few seconds the light goes from flashing to steady and stays like that.

if anyone could tell me whatsup with the harness to the left as well it would be greatly appreciated, im thinking OBDII?

Plug to the left is the OBDII connector. The switch I can't say. Follow the harness and see what it plugs into I guess.

you might could bring it to any local car audio shop and their installers probably could identify it for you and send you to the proper dealer for information about operating it.

i agree. they need to do this for you. its possible you could arm something by accident one day and not be able to start your truck or know how to disable it.

unbolt it from its location and look on the backside for a brand or model number. this might help. if not you could just follow the wires to the module. the brand or model might be on that box also.
